It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved "Mama Lion" on April 4, after a lengthy illness. Eve was born in Altona Manitoba on July 31, 1918. She was predeceased by our "Daddy" Hayden in 1988, and is survived by her brothers Norman (Anne) Wiebe,  Johnny (Emily) Wiebe, and Wesley (Bob) Wiebe, sisters Dorothy Rempel and Mandy Marshall, and many nieces and nephews. She leaves to mourn daughters Mary Nelson (David Bird) of BC and Patricia Bussey of Reno NV, Grandsons Tim (Yvette) Nelson and Bryan Bussey, and Great Grandson Alex Nelson. Also loved and missed by her second family Michael (Mona) Robinson, Jack (Doreen) Robinson, Dolores (Jim) Anderson, Maureen (Nandor) Molnar, and their families. Eve "adopted" an extended family along the way, and will be sadly missed by her many "kids" and friends. We know who we are.

She called herself a homemaker and was one indeed. She was famous for her bountiful table where all were welcome, and all those who experienced the smells and tastes of her hospitality also felt her love. She was witty, charming, sympathetic, and intelligent, with a straightforward approach to life and a boundless capacity for giving of herself. She touched and enriched the lives of too many people to mention, and was loved by all of them.

She was cremated according to her wishes and will be inurned with her mother, Maria Heppner, as she requested. A graveside service will be conducted at the Altona Cemetery in Altona, Manitoba at 2:00 pm on April 10th, 1999. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
